  1. September – Egypt: China’s Ningxia provincial government donated medical supplies to Fayoum in Egypt. The supplies, consisting of 30,000 medical masks, 1,000 protective suits, will be used to help Fayoum with its fight against the spread of COVID-19.
  2. October – South Sudan: China’s government pledged USD300,000 as disaster support in South Sudan. Hua Ning, the Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan, pledged the amount in a meeting with Beatrice Khamisa, South Sudan’s Foreign Affairs Minister. Floods in South Sudan have affected around 800,000 people in the eastern part of the country.
  3. September – Kenya: Shelter Afrique, a pan-African housing development financier has signed an agreement with two Chinese construction firms for the development of large-scale affordable housing projects. The two Chinese firms, Amberton International Holdings and Sichuan Huashi Enterprises were selected for the project, with Amberton being the co-developer, and Sichuan Huashi doing the construction.
  4. October – Zambia: Chinese firm AVIC International was awarded a contract to construct a water supply and sanitation system in the west of Zambia. The project is estimated to cost USD41 mn. The same company is currently also undertaking a road network project in the same province.
