  1. July – Libya: The Chinese embassy in Libya donated medical supplies to the Libyan government to help the country in its fight against COVID-19. This follows another donation made in June, which comprised of nucleic acid tests, masks and protective suits.
  2. July – Kenya: Chinese engineering company, Stecol Corporation, was awarded a USD 52mn contract to construct special lanes for high-capacity busses in the Kenyan Capital of Nairobi. The Bus Rapid Transit system is expected to ease the high levels of traffic congestion experienced in the city centre and on the Thika super-highway.
  3. August – Zambia: Chinese firm Chambishi Copper Smelter (CCS) has begun upgrades on wastewater movement systems in Zambia’s Kalulushi district. Deputy General Manager of CCS, Xu Laixiang, said the USD 20,000 project was undertaken to help reduce the outbreak of water-borne diseases in the country.
