  1. May – Zambia: Huawei donated 300 computers, 300 desks and 300 chairs to schools in Zambia. Huawei Zambia Managing Director, Anthony Yu, presented the donation to Zambian President, Edgar Lungu, at State House in the Capital, Lusaka.
  2. May – Zambia: Chinese enterprise, PowerChina, and local Zambian power utility, Zesco, signed a deal for the construction of three solar power plants. The plants shall have a combined capacity of 600 megawatts (MW), supplying 200MW each to the Chibombo, Chirundu and Siavongo districts. The deal is valued at USD 548mn.
  3. June – Botswana: China donated medical protective supplies to Botswana to aid its efforts against the spread of COVID-19. 15,000 medical masks, 150,000 surgical masks and 7,000 medical goggles were among the supplies received by Botswana’s Minister of Health and Wellness, Lemogang Kwape and Chinese Ambassador to Botswana, Zhao Yanbo.
